Cloud Studies in December

These were taken over the course of a few days between Bozeman and White Sulphur Springs along the highway.

What happens when it's cold....

I was out taking these, and it was sunny so it felt warm. However, after a about 45 minutes, my thumb really started to hurt. I had one hand in a glove holding the camera, and the other out of the glove to focus the photograph. I looked down and it was turning blue and the tiny blood vessels were broken under the skin. That was because it was cold. Wierd I didn't notice, but it didn't feel 13 below zero. It was so white outside. Everything was white, the buildings, the trees, and the clotheline.

The end of 2009

Lots to be thankful for...

This is my family around the Thanksgiving table at my parents' house. We eat dinner usually at our house, but what I like is the familiarity. We've always had the same people, the same conversations, and we always do dishes right after dinner. I like this sort of ritual that the family dinners have become. I've always enjoyed my family and we have fun when we get together, and I'm very thankful for them.

One day, I just decided I would sit outside in a camp chair and watch the clouds. This is the best out of some very good results.

The first cutting of 2009....

My dad in the swather cutting the hay below our house. One side of the field is alfalfa, and the other is barley. The alfalfa is already growing again for a second cutting, but the barley won't be cut for a while.
